Family of organisations
Rangatira Investments was founded by Sir John Robert (JR) McKenzie in 1937. JR set up Rangatira to enable its shares to be gifted to charitable trusts, principally, the JR McKenzie Trust.

JR McKenzie Trust and Charities
A FOUNDER / INVESTOR
The JR McKenzie Trust is the founding and largest single shareholder of Rangatira, with shares gifted by Sir John Robert (JR) McKenzie in 1937. Today, it is joined by many others with charities comprising ≈ 60% of Rangatira’s share ownership.
B DIVIDENDS
Rangatira provides sustainable funding for the activities of the JR McKenzie Trust and other charities. Rangatira and its portfolio companies are proud to provide tangible support every year to so many charities.

A SHAREHOLDERS
Rangatira has a shareholder register numbering 300+ investors, including fourth generation McKenzie family members, current and past employees of Rangatira, as well as other family and business associates. In 2022, Rangatira raised capital for the first time, introducing another generation of investors comprising private individuals and family offices.

In addition to capital growth as reflected in the Rangatira share price, our shareholders, including the charities and private individuals, enjoy regular dividends paid twice a year in line with our dividend policy.
