The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Susan Mudie has been appointed to the role of CEO, Rainbow’s End Theme Park, Ltd.
The Rangatira annual report announced that Karen Crabb is stepping down from the role of CEO later this year and that a recruitment process was underway. The Directors have conducted a thorough search with an extensive list of candidates, and are delighted to confirm the appointment of Susan Mudie, who is currently the Marketing and Business Development Manager for Rainbow’s End.
Susan brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to her new role. She previously held senior roles at Lion Nathan, including; sales, marketing, new product development and retail marketing manager for the Liquor King chain of stores. Since joining Rainbow’s End in 2018, Susan has been instrumental in driving the Park's growth and innovation. Her strategic initiatives and data-driven approach have helped to maximise revenue and enhance the guest experience, making Rainbow’s End a beloved destination for more than 430,000 visitors annually.
Karen and Susan will complete a handover over the next two months and Susan will be ready to take over the CEO role on 23rd September, in time for the October holidays and the start of the summer peak period.
Board update
Richard Wilks has announced his intended retirement from the role of Chair of Rainbow’s End Board of Directors. Richard has been a Director at Rangatira since 2012 and stepped into the role of Chairperson for the Rainbow’s End Board when Rangatira purchased the business in 2013.
Current Director, Grant Lilly, has been appointed to the role of Chair of the Rainbow’s End Board and will be taking up that role on 23rd September. Grant has extensive governance experience and is currently Chair of Hamner Springs Pool & Spa Ltd; Invercargill Airport Ltd; the Bus & Coach Association of NZ, and a Director of Rotorua Regional Airport and Search & Rescue Services Ltd.
Richard will continue as a Director with the Rainbow’s End Board until the end of 2024.
